Langen/Germany, 13. February, 2023 --- Socionext, a global leader in the design and development of innovative System-on-Chip solutions, has named Naoaki Naka as President & Managing Director effective February 1. Mr. Naka will also assume the role of Acting Vice President for Engineering.
Mr. Naka replaces Toshihiko Tanaka, who returns to Socionext Inc. Japan and will act as Chairman and Managing Director for Socionext Europe (SNEU).
Mr. Naka brings decades of industry experience to SNEU. Having graduated from Tokyo University of Science in 1990, he started his career at Fujitsu Limited within the Electronic Device Division. In April 2007 he joined Fujitsu Microelectronics America as Manager of the SoC Engineering Center. His career progressed within Fujitsu with a move to Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited as Director of the Advanced Product Division where he worked until March 2015. Following the establishment of Socionext, he assumed the position of Director of the Network SoC Business Unit.
In June 2019 he joined Socionext Europe GmbH as Vice President of IP Development where he led numerous business opportunities and design wins, in particular mixed signal system LSI projects.
Mr. Naka, who will be based at Socionext’s European headquarters in Langen, Germany, said:
