Webinar – Next Generation Vehicle HMI Design

Share post:

Automotive HMIs have to meet several different requirements like infotainment, comfort functions and important safety features. However, sometimes the difference between what is important for driving and what isn’t has begun to blur. One technology that helps to divide safety-critical attributes from infotainment and comfort features into two heterogeneous systems is the hypervisor. It splits up the CPU into several virtual machines with different operating systems. This ensures that even if one system fails, the other will continue to run unimpaired.

Based on this principle Mentor, a Siemens Business and Socionext Embedded Software Austria have developed a hypervisor-based multiscreen demo created with Socionext‘s HMI tool “CGI Studio” and embedded software components from Mentor. Using this approach, information from Infotainment systems, like navigation, air condition, media and driver information, like speed and rpm can be combined and displayed as needed in the cluster, headunit, head-up or rear-seat displays. This could even include safety critical features covered by a safety-certifiable path.

The result of this successful cooperation as well as other exciting topics will be presented in a shared Webinar.
